WorkDay Tutorial-ACTIVITY (OPTIONAL) – Create Inbound EIB using WWS and custom transformation

 Business Case: You will create a new EIB using the Update Employee Personal Info Web Service and retrieve an external file from sFTP to provide the information.

1.       Search for 'Create EIB' 

2.       Select Create EIB from the Tasks results 

3.       Select the Inbound radio button then Click OK 

4.       Give the new EIB the following name:

5.       Tab to the ID field (the description will default) then click the Get Data icon  or the NEXT TO Get Data link 

6.       Select the External File radio button 

7.       From the prompt, select Create > Create External File Data Source 

8.       Enter the file name to be retrieved as sample.xml 

9.       In the Retrieve File From field, click the prompt and select Create > Create SFTP Transport Protocol (or select the SFTP transport you created in activity 16)


10.    Enter values provided by your instructor Click OK to save


11.   Click the Transform icon  or the NEXT TO Transform  link 

12.   Select the Custom Transformation radio button 

13.   Click the prompt and select Create > Create XSLT Attachment Transformation 

14.   Enter ‘EmployeeEmail" in the Name and click Attach to select employee_email.xsl found in the Activity 23 XML Inbound folder. Click OK. 


15.   Click the Deliver icon


16.   Use the prompt to search for and select Update Employee Personal Info (Web Service) as the Workday Web Service value 

17.   Click Save to complete the creation of the EIB (Integration System) 

18.   Use the related actions icon to launch the integration and Run Now 

19.   First run the integration in Validation Mode.  Once successful, re-run out of validate mode. 

20.   To verify, look up Employees 21142 and 21019 in the tenant and view their contact information
