WorkDay Tutorial-Create inbound integration system

The Enterprise Interface Builder is used to create, configure and launch simple interface background processes.



Create EIB: Both Search and the Navigate Tab can be used to locate the Create EIB task. The system is named and the user and password are set.


Deliver



Template from Web

Select a public, inbound Workday Web Service operation for a spreadsheet template.

Service Operation

 

 

 

Template from Custom

Create a spreadsheet template based on any Custom Object that you have defined in

Object

Workday.

 

 

External File

Select an existing external file if one has already been defined, or click Create > Create

 

External File Data Source in the prompt window.  If scheduling an inbound integration

 

system, you would select an external file.

 

 

REST URL

Select an existing REST URL if one has already been defined, or click Create > Create

 

REST Endpoint Data Source in the prompt window.

 

 

Attach File at Launch

Select this option to upload a file from your computer, such as a BAI2-formatted bank

 

statement, a credit card transaction file, or a file for a custom integration. Workday

 

prompts you to attach the file when you launch the integration.

 

 

Predefined Template

These have been officially retired – will return an error if selected when configuring a

 

new integration system.

 

 


DELIVER



You will select a Workday Web Service operation for the delivery location for the Inbound Integration System. If you selected "Template from Web Service Operation" as your data source, this will automatically default.

Workday enables you to load data through EIB spreadsheets into custom objects. On each Inbound EIB, you can create or update data in the current tenant from the spreadsheet.
